Furnished monthly rentals in El Poblado

El Poblado climbs the eastern slopes of the valley in the south of Medellín. It’s the best-known area for newcomers: Provenza, Manila, Astorga and La Aguacatala are the pockets most people start with. It’s green, steep in places, and busy around the restaurant streets.

Who it suits

Remote workers

Remote workers who want cafés, coworkings and restaurants within walking distance, and are happy to pay more for it. Pick a building a few blocks from the nightlife streets if you take calls.

Families

Families who want larger buildings with pools and green areas. These are often further up the hill, where it’s quieter but you’ll rely more on taxis or a car.

What to check before you book

  • Noise. Provenza and the streets around Parque Lleras are lively late at night, especially at weekends. Ask which way the bedroom faces.
  • Desk. A real desk and an office chair, not the dining table.
  • Air conditioning. At least in the bedroom, especially in sunny or top-floor apartments.
  • Blackout blinds. In the bedroom, so the morning light doesn’t wake you.
  • Internet. Ask for a recent speed test and whether it’s fibre. Keep mobile data as a backup for calls.

Getting around

  • Metro Line A runs along the river, with Poblado and Aguacatala stations at the bottom of the hill.
  • The neighbourhood climbs steeply away from the river, so many residents walk within their own pocket and use taxis or ride-hailing apps for the rest.
  • Ciudad del Río is just north along the river and Envigado is directly south.
